The Constitution Project periodically sponsors panel discussions on controversial legal and constitutional issues that are not directly addressed by our Criminal Justice and Rule of Law Programs. Many of these forums are co-sponsored with other organizations, including the Stanford Constitutional Law Center, the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life, and the Federalist Society.

These events serve our public education mission by providing a variety of perspectives and a forum for discussion of important issues of the day.

Topics have included the constitutionality of biosecurity measures to combat contagious disease and germ warfare; whether under the Establishment Clause public schools may teach “intelligent design” theories in addition to teaching evolution; and the balance between government and individual interests in the context of end-of-life decisions or the right to die.
