Mary Schmid mergler

SchmidMary Schmid Mergler is Senior Counsel for the Constitution Project's Criminal Justice Program, responsible for coordinating the Clearinghouse for New Voices on Criminal Justice Reform, as well as state-level criminal justice reform efforts. Prior to joining the Constitution Project, Mary was an associate at Baker Botts L.L.P. in Washington, DC, where she represented corporate and individual clients in civil and criminal litigation and government investigations. Previously, she was National Affairs Assistant at the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, where she worked on a wide range of criminal justice issues. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a member of the Virginia Law Review editorial board and co-chaired the Virginia Innocence Project Student Group, and Wake Forest University.
